Metalwork Aftercare Guide
Some helpful tips to make the most of your metalwork
AVOID
LEANING
Do not lean on freshly installed metalwork
CLEAN
GENTLY
Every 6 months, wipe with soapy water and a soft cloth. Rinse and dry to remove dirt and debris build up.
NO HARSH CLEANERS
Avoid bleach or abrasive products as they can damage the finish.
CHECK
HINGES
Check hinges/drop bolts regularly to ensure they are still secure.
LUBRICATE HINGES
Apply a light spray lubricant to moving parts every 6 months.
CHECK FOR DAMAGE
Check regularly for scratches or wear, especially around the hinges. Use matching paint to touch up small blemishes or scuffs.
WINTER
CARE
Avoid piling salt near the metal as it can wear down the protective coating.
STORM PROTOCOL
During high winds, open gates and secure the drop bolts to allow wind to pass through
